Basketball Game Preview: Millard North Mustangs vs. Bellevue West Thunderbirds + Official Tickets

The Millard North Mustangs and the Bellevue West Thunderbirds will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Millard North is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over Millard West. The Mustangs pushed the score to 46-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Millard North can attribute much of their success to Major Mosser, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Mosser a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Chambers, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bellevue West had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past Norris 76-73.

Millard North better focus on containing Carsen Schultz and Keaton Melcher as the pair were huge in Bellevue West's win. Schultz shot 86% from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points, while Melcher went 7-for-12 en route to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Pierce Parker, who earned five points and 11 boards.

Millard North strolled past Bellevue West in their previous matchup back in March by a score of 62-44. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Thunderbirds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
