Baseball Recap: Kalida Takes a Loss

Kalida fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Leipsic on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Kalida and nudges their season record down to 13-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Leipsic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kalida will face off against Van Wert at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.1, the Cougars 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Leipsic, they will challenge Bluffton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
