Football Recap: Cromwell Extends Winning Streak to Seven

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cromwell had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Bertha-Hewitt Bears 41-18. Considering the Cardinals have won seven games by more than 21 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Drew Nyberg threw for 138 yards and four touchdowns on only eight passes. Lane Gervais was his top target, picking up 105 receiving yards and three scores.

The win was the seventh in a row for Cromwell, bringing their record up to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.1 points over those games. As for Bertha-Hewitt, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

Coming up, Cromwell will square off against Fertile-Beltrami on Thursday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. Bertha-Hewitt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
