Monroe has gone 8-2 against Arlington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bearcats are taking a road trip to take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Monroe will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Monroe is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Marysville-Pilchuck with a sharp 22-2 win on Thursday. Considering the Bearcats have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Gavin Prescott looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Joe Enrico was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cody Walker, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Monroe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marysville-Pilchuck only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Arlington got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Jackson by a score of 5-1.
Jace Graham tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Daniel Delcoure, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Knudson, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Monroe is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Arlington, their record is now 4-9.
Arlington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Monroe has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. It's a different story for Arlington, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Monroe's hitters?
Monroe skirted past Arlington 6-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
