Basketball Recap: Houston Hilltoppers vs. Grenada Chargers
Houston kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 67-57 to the Grenada Chargers. The Hilltoppers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Grenada got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elizjah Townes out in front who went 10 for 18 en route to 24 points plus three blocks. Another player making a difference was Travis Wilks, who went 7 for 17 en route to 18 points plus five steals.
The victory snapped Grenada's losing streak at four games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-1 record.
Houston will challenge Oxford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grenada, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
