Volleyball Recap: Southwestern Spartans vs. Waldron Mohawks

Southwestern lost to Waldron back in September of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Southwestern Spartans walked away with a 3-1 win over the Waldron Mohawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

The final score came out to 25-20, 26-28, 25-17, 25-19.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwestern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marlee Jackson, who had four digs, four aces, a kill, and a block. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Beck, who had ten digs.

Waldron lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lauren Strehle, who had four digs and two aces.

Southwestern's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-12. As for Waldron, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-20.
