River Valley's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Yuba City Honkers 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

River Valley wouldn't go down easily and took Yuba City into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 22-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Yuba City still got an impressive performance from Dessa McDonald, who had 29 digs and five aces. McDonald has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

River Valley's win bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Yuba City, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Coincidentally, River Valley and Yuba City will both be playing Del Campo the next time they take the court. The Honkers will host the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Falcons will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
