Basketball Recap: Newfane Panthers vs. Wilson Lakemen
The Newfane Panthers had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points), and they went ahead and made it 13 on Wednesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 76-39 victory over Wilson. Newfane has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.
Landon Braman was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Capen Mac, who scored 11 points.
Newfane pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Wilson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Newfane will take on the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wilson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on February 15th.
