Basketball Recap: Cheyenne Takes a Loss

Cheyenne lost against Canyon Springs back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cheyenne Desert Shields lost 66-40 to the Canyon Springs Pioneers.

Canyon Springs found their leader in freshman Mekhi Carter, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gregory Paige, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points.

Cheyenne's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Canyon Springs, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Cheyenne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-25 loss against Shadow Ridge on the 14th. As for Canyon Springs, they will look to defend their home court on December 21st against Tournament Opponent at 3:00 p.m.
