Basketball Recap: Immaculata-La Salle Takes a Loss

Immaculata-La Salle lost against Palmer Trinity back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions took a 72-53 bruising from the Palmer Trinity Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Royal Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 516th, while the Falcons are ranked 218th).

Despite the loss, Immaculata-La Salle still got an impressive performance from Alessio Saumat, who went 5 for 10 en route to 17 points. Saumat's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Ledon, who posted nine points.

Palmer Trinity's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Estep, who went 10 of 14 on his way to 22 points. Graham Yanowitch was another key player, going 5 for 6 en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Immaculata-La Salle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Palmer Trinity, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Immaculata-La Salle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-33 win against JC Bermudez Doral on the 16th. Palmer Trinity has also already played their next match, a 66-56 victory against Ransom Everglades on the 17th.
