Basketball Recap: Eldorado Comes Up Short

Eldorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 61-54 to the Fairfield Mules. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 65-43 defeat back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Eldorado still got an impressive performance from Jake Phelps, who went 7 for 11 to rack up 21 points. The dominant performance also gave Phelps a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Drayson Grathler was another key player, putting up ten points.

Eldorado's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Fairfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-10.

Coming up, Eldorado will take on Carmi-White County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-47 defeat against Cumberland on the 8th.
