Elm Creek came tearing into Friday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pleasanton Bulldogs 68-35. Given the Buffaloes' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elm Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Halle Knapp, who went 5 for 11 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Chelsea Kottich, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 14 points and eight boards.

Elm Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasanton only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Pleasanton's loss came despite strong showings from Tyra Sekutera and Brittany Riley. Sekutera posted 11 points, while Riley put up nine points. What's more, Riley also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Blakely Lindner also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Elm Creek's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Pleasanton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Elm Creek will challenge Ravenna at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elm Creek is facing Ravenna at the right time seeing as Ravenna is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pleasanton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-37 defeat against Kenesaw on the 25th.
