Basketball Game Preview: Saint Viator Lions vs. Benet Academy Redwings

Saint Viator is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Benet Academy is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Saint Viator Lions just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Benet Academy Redwings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Saint Viator got the win against Lake Forest by a conclusive 53-30. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Scouts are ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Benet Academy made easy work of Libertyville on Monday and carried off a 74-48 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-26.

Benet Academy's win bumped their record up to 20-1. As for Saint Viator, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Saint Viator was dealt a bruising 68-37 loss at the hands of Benet Academy when the teams last played on January 4th. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Saint Viator was down 40-17.
