Baseball Recap: Plumstead Christian Wins Going Away Against the Christian Academy

Plumstead Christian got the win against The Christian Academy on Friday by a conclusive 15-1. Plumstead Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Declan Glass was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Asher Franklin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Blattner, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Plumstead Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Christian Academy only managed one hit.

The win made it two in a row for Plumstead Christian and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for The Christian Academy, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-7.

Coming up, Plumstead Christian will face off against Upper Bucks Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Upper Bucks Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.86 runs per game on average), something Plumstead Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for The Christian Academy, they will take on Church Farm at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Christian Academy are facing the Griffens at the right time seeing as the Griffens are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
