Softball Recap: Fallbrook Takes a Loss

Fallbrook extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 8-12. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Escondido Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since March 20th.

Fallbrook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Brown, who went 1-for-4 with one double.

As for Escondido, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 8-12-1 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 16, 2025.

On Escondido's side, not much got past Amelia Gastelum, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Fallbrook off the board.

On the hitting side, Ayla Ruvalcaba was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

Fallbrook didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-1 defeat against Westview on the 12th. As for Escondido, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-8 victory against Valley Center on the 12th.
