Softball Recap: Rittman Indians vs. Dalton Bulldogs
Rittman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 8-2 walloping at the hands of the Dalton Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rittman of the 12-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Monday.
Rittman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Csirmaz, who went 1-for-3 with a double.
On Dalton's side, Lily Teague was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Wenger, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Rittman's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dalton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rittman will take on Waterloo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dalton, they will head out on the road to square off against West Holmes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Dalton is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
