Volleyball Recap: Eagle Ridge Academy Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Eagle Ridge Academy proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Strasburg Indians 3-2. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Eagle Ridge Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Eagle Ridge Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keilyn Greenfield, who had ten digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Eagle Ridge Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Despite the loss, Strasburg had strong showings from Jenna Echer, who had 15 digs and eight aces, and Laci Zimmerman, who had 17 kills, four aces, three digs, and one block. Zimmerman has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last eight times she's played.

Eagle Ridge Academy's victory ended an eight-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-14. As for Strasburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Eagle Ridge Academy and Resurrection Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Strasburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
