Basketball Recap: Hueytown Golden Gophers vs. Tuscaloosa County Wildcats
The Hueytown Golden Gophers were the 42-35 winner over the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hueytown took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Thursday. Hueytown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Hueytown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Braylon Patton. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Trip Harris, who scored 12 points.
Hueytown's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Tuscaloosa County, the win got them back to even at 14-14.
Hueytown will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brookwood has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 9. As for Tuscaloosa County, they will head out on the road to square off against the Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoover will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
