Volleyball Recap: Yarmouth Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Wells last Thursday, Yarmouth came back down to earth. The Clippers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greely Rangers on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Clippers of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Yarmouth started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-18.

Yarmouth's loss came despite strong showings from Evie Keepes and Ella Cameron. Keepes had seven digs and three aces, while Cameron had eight kills, eight digs, and four aces. Cameron is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season.

Yarmouth's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Greely, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Yarmouth will take on rival Cape Elizabeth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Greely is set to challenge their familiar foe Falmouth at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
