Volleyball Recap: Kankakee Comes Up Short

Kankakee lost to Joliet Central back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kays fell just short of the Steelmen by a score of 2-1. The Kays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Kankakee sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 17-25, 25-18.

Joliet Central found their leader in freshman Emiliano Lara, who had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Lara.

Kankakee's record now sits at 8-5. As for Joliet Central, with the victory, they broke their eight-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-12.

Coming up, Kankakee will take on Andrew at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Joliet Central, they will face off against St. Patrick at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
