Basketball Recap: Westside's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Westside lost against Bishop Kenny back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Westside Wolverines took a 68-54 bruising from the Bishop Kenny Crusaders. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Westside still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Mitchell, who posted 22 points. Chase Williams-Pierce was another key player, putting up six points.

Westside's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8. As for Bishop Kenny, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Westside and Bishop Kenny should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Westside (ranked 255th) will meet Parker (ranked 595th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. Similarly, Bishop Kenny will square off against Sandalwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 226 places (182 vs. 408).
