Recap: Anthem Prep Eagles vs. Veritas Prep Falcons
The Anthem Prep Eagles waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Veritas Prep by a score of 48-36. For Anthem Prep, this counts as revenge for the 66-40 defeat Veritas Prep walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Anthem Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Titus Franklin led the charge by scoring ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Schirm, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, Veritas Prep still got an impressive performance from Casen Lentz, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Lentz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Carter Perry was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Anthem Prep pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Veritas Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.
Anthem Prep's homestand continues as they prepare to take on North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Veritas Prep on the road again on Friday and play against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
