Recap: Phoebus Phantoms vs. Woodside Wolverines
After flying high against the Denbigh Patriots on Tuesday, the Phoebus Phantoms came back down to earth. Phoebus fell 69-56 to Woodside on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Phoebus lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aniyah Waldon-Brooks. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. Waldon-Brooks scored a full 37.5% of Phoebus' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tehya Brewer, who scored 11 points.
Phoebus' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Woodside, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Phoebus will head out on the road to face off against Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bethel at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
