Basketball Game Preview: Blair Bears vs. Gretna Dragons

Blair is 0-6 against Gretna since February of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Blair Bears will be playing at home against the Gretna Dragons at 5:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Blair was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-39 to Plattsmouth. The Bears were up 27-13 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the defeat, Blair got top-tier performance from Addie Sullivan, who posted 19 points. Kate Wulf was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Gretna strolled past Lincoln Northwest with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 48-30. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Falcons are ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gretna's win came from a few key players Blair will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maggie Miller, who put up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Mcartor, who had 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Blair and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Gretna, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Blair lost to Gretna at home by a decisive 46-30 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. Can Blair avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
