Drumright barely beat Hulbert the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tornadoes blew past the Riders 13-7 on Thursday. The Tornadoes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jay Welch looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Howdy Wright was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Chance Patterson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
