Volleyball Recap: Northeast Bradford Comes Up Short

Northeast Bradford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Athens Wildcats. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Wildcats since Saturday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13, 25-6.

Athens got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayla Forbes out in front who had ten digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Forbes a new career-high. Emma Mallare also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Northeast Bradford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Athens, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-11-1.

Northeast Bradford has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Troy on the 21st. As for Athens, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Sayre on the 21st.
