Basketball Recap: North Hollywood Extends Winning Streak to Two

Verdugo Hills came into Saturday's game looking for another win against North Hollywood, but Chase Guillory wouldn't allow it. The North Hollywood Huskies secured a 63-58 W over the Verdugo Hills Dons on Saturday thanks in part to Guillory, who went 7 for 17 en route to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Eman Gore was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (60%).

Despite the loss, Verdugo Hills still got an impressive performance from William Gharabekyan, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 20 boards. Gharabekyan's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Paul Castro, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.

The victory made it two in a row for North Hollywood and bumps their season record up to 7-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points over those games. As for Verdugo Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

North Hollywood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 76-58 win against Monroe on the 5th. As for Verdugo Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 87-56 loss against Grant on the 3rd.
