Basketball Recap: Union County Patriots vs. Northeastern Knights
It was a good run, but the Union County Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Northeastern on the road and fell 51-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Union County has scored all season.
Leading Northeastern to victory were Addisen Mastriano and Adysson Kircher. Mastriano scored five points along with 15 rebounds and six assists, while Kircher scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Kircher hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Cami Angi, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.
Union County now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Northeastern, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.
Union County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northeastern won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
