Volleyball Game Preview: Avon Lake Shoremen vs. Bay Rockets

The Avon Lake Shoremen are taking a road trip to take on the Bay Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Avon Lake saw some tournament action on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Max S. Hayes. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Shoremen.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Avon Lake was: they took every set by at least 20 points. The final score came out to 25-1, 25-5, 25-2.

Avon Lake can attribute much of their success to Charlotte Preto, who had 15 aces, and Danielle Hubert, who had five aces. Those 15 aces gave Preto a new career-high. Emerson Burgess also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Avon Lake was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 37 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bay made easy work of Buchtel on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Bay took every set by at least 20 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-5, 25-3.

Avon Lake's record is now 13-9. As for Bay, their record now sits at 21-2.
