Baseball Game Preview: Hahnville Tigers vs. Bourgeois Braves

Hahnville has gone a perfect 10-0 against Bourgeois recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Hahnville will head out to challenge Bourgeois at 4:00 p.m. Hahnville will be strutting in after a victory while Bourgeois will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Hahnville earned an 8-3 win over Vandebilt Catholic. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Hahnville got a great performance from Ja'Vonte Gray as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Gray has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Koa Romero, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Hahnville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Matthew Bedi was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Bourgeois was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They came up short against Covenant Christian Academy, falling 8-1. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Hahnville pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Bourgeois, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-20.

Hahnville was able to grind out a solid victory over Bourgeois when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hahnville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
