Baseball Recap: Bergenfield Triumphs

Bergenfield won the last time they faced Cliffside Park and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Esdriham P. spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, J. Duran was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was D. Almonte, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Bergenfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Bergenfield now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Cliffside Park, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bergenfield will host Mahwah at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cliffside Park, they will be playing at home against Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
