Volleyball Recap: Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Comes Up Short

Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Fonda-Fultonville Valley Hawks. If the Golden Knights were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Valley Hawks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons ultimately came up short, they really made Fonda-Fultonville work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 26-24, 25-11.

Gianna Ciaccio went supernova For Fonda-Fultonville., getting 23 digs, 12 kills, and eight aces. That's the most aces Ciaccio has posted over her last seven matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Sigourney Myles, who had 25 digs and four aces.

Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Fonda-Fultonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3-4 record this season.

Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons will take on La Salle Institute at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fonda-Fultonville, they will square off against Lansingburgh at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
