After losing to Wall Township the last time they met, Middletown North decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Crimson Knights on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Middletown North's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Wall Township are ranked 134th).

The win made it two in a row for Middletown North and bumps their season record up to 2-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those two contests. As for Wall Township, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Middletown North and Wall Township will both be playing Red Bank Catholic the next time they take the pitch. The Crimson Knights will head out to face the Caseys at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lions will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
