Basketball Recap: Howell Central Comes Up Short

Howell Central managed to slip by Marquette the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. 2026 welcomed the Spartans with a 57-36 loss courtesy of the Mustangs on Saturday. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Howell Central is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4. As for Marquette, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howell Central will host Fort Zumwalt West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marquette, they will be playing at home against St. Joseph's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
