With a playoff win on the line, Vanguard rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Dunnellon Tigers by a score of 8-3. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-2 victory two weeks ago.

JJ Thomas and Davin Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: Thomas went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Robinson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most runs Thomas has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Fabian Ochoa, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

The win made it two in a row for Vanguard and bumps their season record up to 17-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dunnellon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-20.

As of now, neither Vanguard nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
