Volleyball Recap: Neenah Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Neenah and Appleton West squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Neenah had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Terrors by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Terrors this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat back in September.

Neenah took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Eli Yoder paced Neenah's offense, picking up 11 kills. Yoder got some help from Cam Diekfuss and his 34 assists. Finally, Diekfuss was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Neenah now has a losing record of 14-15. As for Appleton West, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-13.

Neenah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Appleton West, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Appleton North on the 28th.
