Volleyball Recap: Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals vs. Ord Chanticleers

Doniphan-Trumbull lost against Ord back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals came up short against the Chanticleers, falling 3-0.

While Doniphan-Trumbull had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 25-23.

Charlee Richter paced Doniphan-Trumbull's offense, picking up 21 kills. Richter got some help from Laini Rath and her 22 assists. Baylee Larson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Payton Bruha was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Doniphan-Trumbull dropped their record down to 13-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Ord, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-17 record this season.
