Softball Recap: Elcho Hornets vs. Wabeno/Laona Rebels

Elcho had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-6 to make it four. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wabeno/Laona Rebels. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 9-7.

Meadow Palubicki spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Elcho saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachel Visser, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Wabeno/Laona, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.

On Wabeno/Laona's side, Amaris Gilligan was a major factor no matter where she played.
