Softball Game Preview: Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays vs. Clay Panthers

The Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays will venture away from home to challenge the Clay Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whiteoak. The Blue Jays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Clay's offense. They came up short against Notre Dame on Wednesday, falling 7-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Clay, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington came out on top in a nail-biter against Clay in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Jays since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
