Volleyball Recap: Charlie Marsico and Eli Wittman Secure Win for Lutheran South Academy

After losing to St. Joseph the last time they met, Lutheran South Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Flyers on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pioneers.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-19, 25-13.

Leading Lutheran South Academy to victory were Eli Wittman and Charlie Marsico. Wittman had 12 digs and three aces, while Marsico had 11 digs and five assists. Those 12 digs gave Wittman a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Lutheran South Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive contests.

Lutheran South Academy's victory bumped their record up to 30-7. As for St. Joseph, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 43-12.

As of now, neither Lutheran South Academy nor the Flyers have any future games scheduled.
