Football Recap: Kendrick Takes a Loss

After soaring to 40 points the game before, Kendrick was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 40-7 loss at the hands of the Columbus Blue Devils. The Cherokees haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Columbus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rayshaun Glover led the charge by rushing for 47 yards and a pair of scores. The Blue Devils also got help from Michael Fox, who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.

Kendrick's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Columbus, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Kendrick wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 32-0 loss against Shaw on the 24th. As for Columbus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-0 defeat against Spencer on the 24th.
