Football Preview: Lennard Longhorns vs. Parrish Community Bulls

The Lennard Longhorns will venture away from home to challenge the Parrish Community Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lennard comes in on seven and Parrish Community on three.

Lennard will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Plant City, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Longhorns blew past the Raiders 24-0 last Friday. The Longhorns' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last four games.

Lennard got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Mobley out in front who threw for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns. 104 of those passing yards were hauled in by London Green, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Lennard didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Chayse Brown, Bryce Herald, and Charles Mcdaniel picked up one apiece. Herald also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine. Another thorn in Plant City's side was Devin Barnette, who picked up 2.5 sacks and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last matchup, Parrish Community made sure to put some points up on the board against Gateway on Friday. The Bulls blew past the Eagles, posting a 46-7 victory. Given the Bulls' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Eagles are ranked 369th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
