Baseball Game Preview: East Ascension Spartans vs. West Feliciana Saints

The East Ascension Spartans will take on the West Feliciana Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

East Ascension is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Ascension Christian on Saturday. They fell just short of Ascension Christian by a score of 2-1.

East Ascension got a good showing from Cort Romero, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits Romero has allowed over his last five contests.

On the hitting side, East Ascension saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landen Mire, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, West Feliciana sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 win over Ouachita Christian on Saturday.

West Feliciana pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for East Ascension, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
