Volleyball Recap: Columbus East Comes Up Short

Columbus East came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Roncalli Royals. The Olympians have struggled against the Royals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-10, 25-18.

Anika Jenkins paced Columbus East's offense, picking up six kills. Jenkins got some help from Kenlee Gault and her six assists.

Norah Bell was a one-woman wrecking crew For Roncalli. as she had 36 assists and 11 digs. Bell is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Columbus East's loss dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Roncalli, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-4.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Columbus East and Franklin Community will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Roncalli, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Fishers at 12:00 p.m.
