Basketball Recap: Templeton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Taft

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Templeton). They came out on top against the Taft Wildcats by a score of 63-55 on Thursday. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

When it comes to explaining why Taft lost, don't look at Ernie Laulu. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 20 en route to 23 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Laulu's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Andrade, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points.

Templeton's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Taft, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Templeton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-40 victory against Lompoc on the 21st. As for Taft, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-46 win against Coastal Christian on the 26th.
