Martins Ferry lost to Wheeling Central Catholic back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Martins Ferry Purple Riders came out on top against the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights by a score of 56-43. Winning may never get old, but the Purple Riders sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Wheeling Central Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Erin Maxwell, who posted six points in addition to five assists and three steals. Those five assists gave Maxwell a new career-high. Kaitlyn Blake was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 10 points and six boards.

Martins Ferry has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
