Softball Game Preview: Bermudian Springs Eagles vs. Hanover Nighthawks

The Bermudian Springs Eagles will square off against the Hanover Nighthawks at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hanover took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bermudian Springs, who comes in off a win.

Bermudian Springs is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Delone Catholic by a score of 15-10 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Makayla Reese spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bermudian Springs got a massive performance out of A Hoffman, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Hoffman is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lily Hann, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hanover came up short against York County Tech on Monday, falling 14-3. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Skyler Bobbitt was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Elizabeth Valentine was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Bermudian Springs' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Hanover, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
