Volleyball Recap: Lanphier Comes Up Short

Lanphier lost against Mt. Pulaski back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hilltoppers. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Lanphier was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23.

Miley Frakes paced Lanphier's offense, picking up nine kills. Frakes were helped by Elizabeth Powell and Brooke Gibbons, who contributed five assists each. Frakes was also a major player on defense: she and Angel Price shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Among those leading the charge was Addison Brown, who had 14 digs and three assists. Those three assists gave her a new career-high.

Lanphier's defeat dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Mt. Pulaski, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Lanphier wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Decatur Eisenhower on the 14th. As for Mt. Pulaski, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Midwest Central on the 15th.
