Notre Dame put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Welsh Greyhounds get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Pioneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Bella Smith's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Malayna Daigle was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lillian Guidry was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Notre Dame pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.5 runs this season. As for Welsh, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Notre Dame will square off against Mamou at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Welsh, they will challenge Midland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Welsh's pitchers better be ready for this one: Midland has averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
