Football Game Preview: Pelion Panthers vs. Liberty Red Devils + Official Tickets

The Pelion Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Liberty Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pelion is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27 points per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Pelion turned things around against American Leadership Academy on Thursday. They breezed past the Patriots to the tune of 50-7. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-0.

Pelion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tre Jackson led the charge by rushing for 174 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Jackson has posted since back in September. Johnathan Davis was in the mix too, providing Pelion with one TD.

Meanwhile, Liberty never let their opponents score on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-0 victory over Blacksburg. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Liberty's record now sits at 7-3. As for Pelion, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
